from mainland perspective, keeping csb at his position will benefit
mainland most: he was shitty politician and can not manage the island;
he was lameduck to handle internal contention even within his own
party; under his leadership, taiwan will fanatically pursue extremety
on its internal policy and divide themselves. a wealthier taiwan did
some good to mainland, but time changed and a weaker taiwan is the
best now for mainland.

i can not see any reasons why mainland government do not try to keep
in at the post. no case in human history shows that fierce internal
fight has ever saved engaging parties. eventuality is that they all
went down miserably.
