Re: What's Wrong With Deer Hunting?

*** I also know many hunters and I would say that you are mostly right. Most
of the female hunters I know care little for shooting big bucks and are
happy to shoot does. This also seems to be true for the youngsters. Most all
of the male hunters I know would like to shoot the biggest buck they can but
are quite happy to shoot does as well as many people consider them better
eating. Also farmers tend to shoot as many does as they can in an effort to
reduce deep damage to crops..
Here in this part of Wisconsin the deer season runs from October 30 -
Jan. 3 and you can shoot 8 deer a day.

***Yes there is a preference to shoot bucks among all the non farmer men I
know. Back before the "earn a buck" rule hunters still shot a lot of does
but far fewer than now, witch of course is the reason the DNR made the "earn
a buck" rule.

 Hunters would shoot does without

*** I don't see what a hunter preference has to do with it. To me what they
actually do is far more important that whatever they may or may not prefer.
Do you care if a person would prefer to trap animals as long as they didn't
actually do it?
The point of the the artical was that deer populations can be reduced
by shooting does and here in Wisconsin an effort is being made to reduce the
deer population and hunters are the tool being used.
