Since my wife won't let me run around or her, all the information I get
about Sexually Transmitted Diseases  is from my son who is in his 5th,
6th, forever,??? year at college.  From what he is tells me, the 
endless practicing of the Horizontal Mambo has been severely curtailed
from the time I went to school.  (early 1970's)  

Most of the relations between guys and girls breakdown semi serious
(guy and girl living together where monogamy rules) or no sex.  As my 
son says it just to dangerous out there to be screwing around.

Now does that mean that there isn't casual sex, of course not.  What
it means that given the numbers of kids involved they as a group are
a whole lot more responsible than we were at their age.
