  This is another of those urban legends which has apparently taken on
  a life of its own.  Disrupting fashion shows, yes -- usually by such
  "terrorist" tactics as pieing someone ( oh, the horror, the horror...
  one might have to wash off the over-priced animal-based makeup....)
  but throwing paint hasn't been heard-of in years, if at all.  The
  painted furs are usually old coats donated by former fur-wearers
  who have had a change of heart.
