The 98% in the context of the paragraph is towards US perecetions of the ME conflict, not the control of the US. Actually, he is wrong on this one. The zionist view of the ME conflict is accepted by a majority in this country, but the numbers are dropping. The current war in Iraq is educating more and more US citizens, that our blind support for Israel is the major cause of unrest in the ME, at least from the perspective of US national interest.
