Well, I can understand your point if you're a atheist. In your country (America) I feel there's a lot of atheism going on. America isn't quite ready for this. Although I am a Catholic, and wish to convert many, If you're an atheist it is your Legal right to be so, and thus wishing for the removal of the word God, and the ten commandments is all legal. With this I have no qualms, I don't think God minds if you remove the ten commandments from the courts, because the constitution of almost any country abides by the Law of God (with the exception of the first 2). Also I don't think God likes it very much, if you say his name without actually believing in it. However Christian feel that they're losing their right of religious freedom by giving in too much to atheism (which is protected by law) and atheist feel that finally after many years of oppresion they have had enough of christian teachings shoved down their throats. What needs to addressed, is that the laws and constitution need to re-evaluated and the language change to specifically state the freedom of religion or lack thereof. Christians who act almost militantly in defending their religion are wrong, furthermore atheist or proponents of atheism who want all forms of christianity (which has been the backbone of american values) wiped out from their society ; are doing themselves no favors either. Atheist and Christians need to be moderate in their requests, moderation is the key before a very serious rift emerges between them. Trying to aggresively promote your way of thinking only stregthens the resolve of your opponents to be more aggresive.
