Re: Euthanasia a Human Right ?

As a matter of fact, I detest abortions, It goes againts all human
dignity. That's another story however. Yes Abortion is very much
morally inferior to euthansia, however Euthanasia is also in some
respects morally wrong. As a catholic my religion does not allow
'mercy killings', and I too see it as a wrongful moral act. However
not meaning to sound too righteous, I don't think I would want to
prolong the suffering of a loved one or even myself. I don't think I
would have the guts to do what my religion commands me too. This is
kinda like a pre-confession. I pray that I will never need to make
such decision, for i feel almost certain to choose what my religion
does not permit. However, just because I choose to do so, or others
do, does not mean it is the correct decision to make. Euthanasia is
banned in many countries for good sound reasons, most of them are
moral reasons not spiritual/economic/political ones. I feel legalizing
it or condoning it will be detrimental to society as a whole.
