I haven't heard word one about MS being charged w/ perjury. Did the Schindlers bring perjury charges against him? Anyone can file civil charges against someone else for almost anything. Doesn't mean there's any basis to the charges. This sort of reminds me of the question asked by a caller to the LKL show Monday night, that struck me as a real no-brainer. It was something along the lines of, "Michael, if you're so right about this, why have you had to fight so long?" My husband and I looked at each other and laughed simultaneously, and we both said at the same time, "It's called a dispute!" It's a cake walk to breeze right through and get what you want accomplished in a hurry if there's no one around to get in your way and stop you or fight you. Another brainless comment in the guise of "helpful suggestion" from a knowledgeable caller was something like: "When they give a Terri a bath, they can do a PAP smear." Oh thanks, Miss OB/GYN expert. To do a PAP smear, the doctor has to be able to insert a speculum into the vagina and get the cervix in view. To do this, the patient must be able to open her legs completely, w/ knees drawn, and leave them apart, relaxed. The husband explained that this isn't possible w/ his wife because in her PVS, her limbs have drawn together and are frozen there rigidly, which is the norm for those in PVS. I can see why the caller was so concerned about the PAP smear though. God forbid, on top of all her other problems, Ms. Schiavo develops cervical cancer that isn't picked up by early detection methods! Eyeyeye! NS
