is death a bad thing for the person who dies?

hi it's me again for the people who remember me. i'm doing it a philosophy
essay, i want to know peoples opinions. i think death isnt a bad thing. it's
just absolute nothing... in fact it's not just an absence of anything, its an
active negative thing, like the thing that deletes your files when you empty
the wastebasket. somethign so utterly uncomplicated cant be anything but
innocent and peaceful. nothing can go wrong with a zero. of course you can
argue that the thing that makes you suffer is the fact that you are deprived of
the life that you could have lead, but i would argue, is life necessarily the
key to the meaning of our existence? doesnt our final purpose lie in the end of
our life? maybe we need to die to balance some equation that the Universe has
to perform to continue to exist itself. then we will attain some kind of
satisfaction of our own ultimate purpose, as a part of a complete Universe, and
what could be better than that?

for people who believe in an afterlife or reincarnation, death can still be
pure deletion, because in the transition period between one life and the next
there must be some time of nothingness, or at least something about you that
gets deleted somewhere in the process

i think that death is a greatly personal thing as well... its the most intimate
moment of your life. that is why i also think that the moment of your death
should be up to you. i believe in voluntary euthanasia because you have a right
to choose your death. it would be important for me to die with honour- my exact
definition of 'honour' is 'at the hands of a fellow player character of equal
level' with an emphasis on A player character, not several. whats the point in
a last stand if no-one can see you because some other idiots are stood in the
way?
