The storm brought with it slick streets and school closings to make this morning a challenge for all. The heaviest snow fell in a band from Spencer in northwest Iowa, to Webster City, Fort Dodge and Boone in central Iowa. Spencer, reported about ten inches of snow overnight Dozens of minor wrecks were reported in the Des Moines area. Police were busy keeping traffic moving but it was a slow commute this morning. No roads were closed but slick surfaces had Interstate traffic slowed to a crawl. No serious injuries or deaths had been reported. The snow is expected to taper off to flurries by this afternoon.
