Yeah, this is definately a problem. . I don't like to jump on the "Americans
are all fat" bandwagon, but let's face it - most of the car manufacturers
keep making the cockpits of their cars smaller, and people aren't shrinking.
. . ;)

I asked the guy about the Outback. He said "That's why we try to steer
larger people like yourself toward the Forester." I then asked him why the
96 Legacy had far more interior room, and he said, "Well, that was an odd
year - people were complaining about them being too small, so they made 'em
bigger, and then smaller people couldn't reach the pedals anymore."

As for "new" cars, I don't know a thing about which ones are big enough -
Forester is adequate for myself, and I seem to be about your size, but
that's the only one I know about.

Used cars, well, like I said, if you need one you can drive, try on a 96
Subaru legacy or 90-94 Subaru Loyale. You'll be pleasantly suprised. :) (
Probably a lot of other good ones for this, but I'm mainly familiar with
Subarus. )
