The snow was falling around us as cars were crashed on the highway, our terrorist posse moving in on the enemy. There was a small mining facility near the highway, and this provided a flanking opportunity for us to creep up on the little hostel at the top of the mountain. As we entered the shaft, we picked up enemy crosstalk on our sensors, and we went into kill mode. I was running up the stairs, dodging the fragmentation grenades that Yukiko was haphazardly tossing towards the enemy. I didn't have enough time to comm her to tell her to cease, and I made it in between, just barely escaping shrapnel. There was a tango waiting behind a metal door, slightly ajar to allow him to look out, but I knew the layout and ran past to the left, quickly enough to escape his pathetic reflexes. I came to a corridor and wasted a goon that was coming at me with an Uzi. I ran on to get behind the guy who had been at the door, and slammed full metal jacket into the back of his torso. I commed Yukiko to come ahead and we swept the rest of the mine but found no others. We arrived at the ladder which led up a long distance to the top of the mountain. It was our hope that no one would be guarding it, as the rest of the team would be engaging them at lower points along the mountain. Ladies first? I asked hopefully, but she said No thank you. I started up the ladder, with Yukiko covering from below. When I was about three-fourths of the way up, one of the Americans looks out over the ladder down at me. I reach for my pistol, but find he is already falling, as Yukiko has put a clean shot through his forehead. He fell toward me, and I held tight to the ladder to keep from being ripped away should he catch on me in some manner. At the top of the ladder, we look out over the strange mountain hostel area we are to infiltrate. There is a fence ahead up a short hill, and a path around it to the right leading, I would assume, to the hostel. "Yukiko, if our intelligence is reliable, Frodo Baggins is in that hostel, and he has the One Ring." // u l i e n -- All the locals hide their tears of regret Open fire cause I love you to death Sky-high with a heartache of stone You'll never see me cause I'm always alone
