In his press conference with Tony Blair in Britain he mentioned his belief that Muslims, Christians, and presumably Jews all worship the same God. I was wondering what the consensus is about this among these religions. I am a Christian myself, but don't know much about religion, admittedly. I have been intriqued by this idea for a while, after I had heard about the role Abraham plays in all three. Is this a generally accepted or rejected idea? Do some religions or churches readily accept this? I know some evangelical Christian groups had criticized his statement right away. I'm curious about this, any info is appreciated.
