If corporations liked the market economy, >they wouldn't beg for government handouts when the economy turns sour. >Cooperation is how humans work best. Competition is how humans work at >the lowest common denominator level. The blindness of leftists to elemental aspects of human nature is painful to see at times. Competition is how humans work, and that fact is everywhere and at all times evident. The idea that humans work =primarily= by cooperation is hopelessly naive and stupid. There are no non-exploitative human relationships. Every word, every gesture made between people is a bid for recognition, influence, status in competition with everyone else. Human beings are hierarchical animals. Subvert one heirarchy, as the leftist social engineers attempt to do, and another one will spring up automatically to replace it. Thus in the leftist "utopias" the more natural competition of the free market was always replaced by competition for status within the party and the bureaucracy as a means of controlling the economy. In general, people only believe leftist nonsense because they have to. They have to because their own self image is so dependent on fiction. They can't acknowledge the competitiveness in themselves (and many other negative things about themselves), so they can't see it in the people with whom they identify. (They do, of course, project it onto people they don't like, even when, or perhaps especially when it's not appropriate.) Why are you here posting on this forum? For the good of everyone else? If so, then why the disdainful tone of all of your posts? A bit of competitive nature there, perhaps? There is only one thing that can be said to folks who subscribe to such tripe as the leftist ideal, the idea that we can all live on a commune somewhere, that we will all share and share alike and that competition isn't a natural aspect of the human condition. And that is, "Grow Up." Leftists have always refused to own up to the real world consequences of their ideas.
