I live in Bavaria, and the party that has pretty much run the Bavarian government for the last fifty years is called the "Christian Social Union". Doesn't sound "outlawed" to me. Hey, these guys even threw a hissy fit when the German Supreme Court suggested that it might be a good idea to remove crucifixes from a few public elementary school rooms - and they seem to have gotten away with it, too.
