Very true. But also not the point under discussion, as in fact they *did* do
those things you noted. Had the PRC made the intercept in the manner that
the US, UK, etc., have repeatedly done off their own shores, there would be
"no harm, no foul"--but that was not the case, as we all know (well, at
least as those with half a clue know--Beatlejuice may prove to be the rare
exception).
