Thai defence minister to lead high-level delegation to Myanmar Tue Nov 25, 2:41 AM ET BANGKOK, Nov 25 (AFP) - Thai Defence Minister Thamarak Issaranggura Na Ayutthaya will lead a high-level military delegation on a three-day visit to Myanmar this week, officials said Tuesday. The group which departs Wednesday includes Supreme Commander General Somthat Attanand, Army Commander General Chaiyasith Shinawatra, Navy Commander Admiral Chompol Pachusanon, and Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Kongsak Vantana. "The purpose of the visit is to strengthen cordial relations with Myanmar's military and high-ranking government figures," ministry spokesman Major General Palanggoon Klaharn said. During the visit they are due to meet with Myanmar's leader Senior General Than Shwe and Prime Minister General Khin Nyunt. On the agenda will be joint efforts to supress drug trafficking along their border as well as demarcation and patrolling of the frontier. **************************************************************
