Think about any other context; mental hospitals, emt responding to a
combative, even a civil disturbance in your front street. You kill a man
like that, and you're in deep shit.
It validates the perception of there being two standards; a privileged
standard and a common standard. It also speaks to police procedures and
quality of training. Techs on psych wards deal with people like this all the
time without killing them. Prison guards deal with people like this all the
time without killing them.
Why can't police rise to the same level of professional performance?
