No, she was just a stupid girl "swept off her feet" by an exotic 
foreigner.  It happens all the time.

All the rest of us (we were classmates in college when I was an undergrad) 
warned her that he was a "Class A" jerk.  He also needed to learn to bathe 
once in a while.
