This is correct. I wrote to Garry yesterday and explained to him why I
hadn't posted the contents of the letter to alt.binaries.scientology:

Hi Garry
Sorry for the delay in letting you know that I received the letter you
sent me. It took nearly four weeks to arrive, and at that time I
thought Barbara had moved on to other exotic ideas and it would be
prudent not to post the scans and resurrect the controversy.
Your letter was correctly addressed, marked 'Airmail' with the right
postage, and postmarked '16 August', the day you said you sent it. It
arrived on Mon 15 Sep. It should have taken 4 to 6 days. The only clue
is that the machine printed sorting code on the bottom right of the
envelope had been erased by a black marker pen. I don't know if this
code is entered manually, or by OCR equipment, but I can only assume the
letter went somewhere else first and was eventually hand sorted.
My scanner is refusing to work at present and the nearest friend with a
scanner is 20 miles north, so I have two options. See if the Wellington
Public Library has a scanner for general use, or find a copy shop who
could scan it for me. No doubt I'd get some young woman who would look
at me very strangely and wonder why I wanted pictures of dildos scanned!

The envelope was addressed to:
Garry Scarff
7760 Hollywood Blvd.
Apartment #206
Los Angeles CA 90046
(centre justified)
The typewriter or printer used was either of poor quality or the ink was
nearly exhausted.
The sorting code at the bottom reads:
90046+265i 11i1ii11iii11iiii1ii1i11iiii1i1i111111i1iiii11i1i1i1ii1ii1ii11
(I've used '1' to represent a tall vertical bar, and 'i' to represent a
short one.
The postmark reads from the top:
2 NO VA 220
PM
06 AUG
2003
There are two 37 cent stamps with a picture of the American flag, and the
franking says:
SPIRIT
THAT MOVES AMERICA
There is no return address on the envelope which is white, and measures
240mm x 100 mm.
The contents are:
1) An invoice dated 12/05/02 number 125888A addressed to David Touretzky
with details of three items.
2) A picture of three dildos of various sizes from Compact to Luxury.
3) A picture of six dildos of various sizes from Large to Small.
All three sheets have been copied on sub-standard equipment, probably a FAX
machine.
