Fixed Rate Alternative Loan Consolidation

I have found lenders who are willing to consolidate my alternative
student loans with variable rate terms.  Is there anyone willing to
consolidate alternative student loans with a fixed rate?

Is it possible to "swap" alternative student loans variable to fixed
once consolidated?

What is the best strategy to deal with variable rate alternative loans
in an increasing interest rate environment.
