I checked with a dictionary and fluorite is the correct spelling. Thank you for pointing out the error.. However, if one does a Google search on both spellings, ie flourite and fluorite, and equal nimbers of articles will be retrieved.. I am a terrible speller and got the spellings from the internet articles. To eliminate ambiguity, the chemical compound is composed of one atom of calcium and two of fluorine. It is also known as calcium fluoride.
