Nothing whatsoever in the present can do so, including payment of
reparations by present day people to present day people or preferential
treatment in jobs or education.

Some things need to be done simply because it's the right thing to do, such
as resolving treaty violations. This will require present day people who are
not responsible for what happened then to pony up money to people who did
not exist at the time and therefore did not directly suffer injury. This is
not the same as so-called "slavery reparations", which are complete and
absolute nonsense, but rather, reparations for deliberate and intentional
governmental acts which constitute treaty violations.
