What words are associated with the following terms in the mini-canon
of CBT?
-moods
-feelings
-attitudes
-emotions
For instance, some possible "feeling" words seem to be:
sadness, depression, frustration, anxiety, guilt, shame, anger,
irritation, resentment, loneliness, discouragement, hopelessness, etc.
Obviously the reason that no such lists are presented as part of such
therapies themselves is that these words represent significant factors
in multiple contexts (in other words, not only as "feelings").
Linear, "logical" thinking that's already clouded by (for instance)
"despair" might tend to seize on this non-exclusivity as an object of
interest, and become distracted from reflecting more about the context
of presentation in a useful way. (So that contingency really seems to
represent a case where too much clarity and precision can be
counterproductive. Hmm. :) <<< smiley face, for those who aren't in
the habit of looking at the faces of others for non-verbal
communication
I hope I haven't presented too many things at once in this post.
Really, I just want to see if the posting mechanism in sppm is working
again, and this for some reason is a question that just springs to
mind.
