Re: Is Michael Jackson a victim?

I don't recall Erickson's theory on the effects of megastardom in childhood
and its impact on completing the essential stages. I can't find it in
Maslow, either.

Okay, so his dad was a shit. So what? Who is in charge of Jackson's life
now? Jackson is. Great Christ, he's the same age I am. Lemesee, what
incredibly perverted things do I do every day that I can credit to old Mom
and Dad for the rest of my life? Hmmmm. We can't go on blaming others for
our misdeeds forever, I guess.

Put his ass in special housing, and make him look at that cartoon-faced mug
shot of his all day with only one hour off for pleading phone calls to
Elizabeth Taylor. Slap the Elephant Man's bones in there, too. Or Liza
Minelli. What the heck, might as well have fun with it.

I guess you've never heard of the plain old Peter Pan Syndrome, eh? There
are lots of Peter Pans out there, and the Wendies who enable them. I've
worked with many of these people, and the cycle of behavior they operate in
is friggin endless.
