Thanks all for spotting my (rather elementary) error. To summarize the
harmonic oscillator (again, with constants set to 1):
a(t) = a(0) e^{-it}
a*(t) = a*(0)e^{ it}
x(t) = x(0)cos{t} + p(0)sin(t)
p(t) = p(0)cos{t} - x(0)sin(t)
H(t) = H(0)
The a(t) operators are simpler to derive since they only give a
first-order DE. Then x(t) and p(t) can be derived from the defitions
of a(t) and a*(t).
