Revisit acoustic.  You'll generate eddy currents with
magnetic induction which will cause heating problems for
your equipment even if the vessel can deal with it.  With
accoustic, your tranmitter can be fixed while the internal
device moves.  The most important part is that the internal
device must have good contact with the vessel wall during
transmission.  If it needs to swim around, just send it
back to the walls every now and then to dump data.
