Some people do have the impression that materialistic pragmatism is
equivalent to economic rationalism.
Similarly the same people have similar impressions that an ideology is
not related to ideas but to idealism.
Indeed it is a common error but it is a fact too.
Thus, I do agree with you Patrick to disagree on the semantics,
however, what was said was said meaning the commonly mistaken
meanings. So what Matti said really means that when you leave the
idealistic clouds you become a down to earth person. When you reject
the ideologies that nurse idealistic Utopias suggested by religions
and other doctrines you arrive at the inevitable realism and
materialism to face the socioeconomic demands of every day life.

Your analysis is correct but far from complete.
America never intentionally imposed a direct threat to any system
through its automated economics.
It just so happens that the American automated economic system IS an
economic threat to other economic systems within the obvious bounds of
competition (fair or not).
In other words, war is not necessarily trajectories and explosives
demolishing and killing with gore, but war could be very well economic
where one economy can literally make a competitor starve to death.
The expression "Economic Siege" is very common.

This is just the tip of the berg so please bear with me.

Human beings seem to have agreed that the family is an optimum social
structure in which a man and a woman agree to carry the burden of
raising new members of the social structure. The law of demand and
offer here is not only concerning the randomness of the number of
females in relation to the number of males at a certain age slice but
the quality of both genders at that age. This creates a very rich
environment for competition and it is not a new issue at all but
rather prehistoric. Religions have evolved under war-gods and power
rulers who began to dictate laws to ensure a healthy army to face a
very competitive world then.

Is it not true that both Christianity and Islam have very clear issues
concerning adultery and sexual relations!
Indeed they do have such issues.

Islam seems to have found that covering women reduces seductive
stimulation and that pregnancy makes women more home biased than men
who are more biased towards hunting, fishing, and building and
outgoing in a very general sense.

One would ask what does all that have to do with AL Quaida or other
terrorist-like factions around the world?

Mass media is a powerful economics' weapon that uncovered women's
nakedness to seduce men to buy commercial products. Mass media would
use sex, comedy, fantasy and every available trick to catch the mind
of the potential buyer and that is economic rationalism related as is
obvious.

Those technical methods and the hype invested for useless products
triggered some sort of disgust and rejection by competitive economies
that are nursed by opposing ideologies.

However, it is not a reaction against mass media itself but against
the ideology behind that mass media that began to divert consumers'
habits and life style.

Lipstick, perfume and lingerie are all sex related products that men/
husbands pay for and women/ wives seek and apply pragmatically and in
contradiction to what religions teach.

Tight trousers, chewing gums, micro-skirts and fashion in general is
seen to be very offensive within religious groups even inside the USA
and from orthodox Christians not only Muslims.

So industrialization did not only bring better schools and houses,
food and transportation but also brought ridiculous products that we
may all certainly live without and prosper, as seen by extremists
particularly.

That is why such a wave of anger was not directed towards the producer
or the designer at first but at the commercial gates that allowed such
products to sneak to those countries.

The ultimate true reason behind the assassination of President Sadat
of Egypt was broadcasting the reception at the airport in the USA when
President Carter kissed The Egyptian President's wife. So go ahead and
do not believe me.

Those fanatics considered that event to be ultimate treason from the
Egyptian Muslim President to the Islamic teachings.

Now given that there is/ was a struggle between extremists and their
own governments, we know how those factions were created, and they
were never created directly as a reaction to western entities but to
local none western factions acquiring western traits.

It was rather logical to expect those governments to react against the
extremists and prosecute the underground movements and the violent
incidents executed by them, and that is why many have escaped and
found refuge in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan was a very special place because of the turmoil and the
torn government as well as its mountainous nature.
Then the war with Russia came, and the complete chaos in which this
country passed opened the door widely for the Saudi Wealthy Extremist
to establish his Utopia. Those extremists were not terrorists yet
then, however they were young and they were fascinated by the history
of the Islamic conquering of the Middle East up to Spain. They must
have had a dream to conquer the world and spread the word or something
and we all know hoe young dreams can be so wild and unrealistic.

When the conflict between Israel and Palestine grew rather noisy, and
the reckless reaction of the Israeli government concerning the
international body of the UN was considered to be a direct challenge
to the will of nations, the war with the Arabs began and if not for
America and the tears of Golda history might have been different.

America stabbed every Arab deep in their hearts when America took off
its veil and stood with Israel against the Arabs.

Now given that those Utopians have established a base in Afghanistan
and given that they were seeking a war to recreate the days of
Medieval conquering, and given that they were deeply disappointed to
realise that they may not gain an Islamic rule over Islamic Holy
places in Jerusalem, and given that they realised that it was America
who dissipated them in fulfilling their dreams, it was rather obvious
that some of those martyrs lost every good reason for wishing to live
and took an auth to die in battle seeking a higher Utopia.

The solution is in American hands because America can stop Israel from
being a pain in the Arab's ass. :):):)
Consequently America can stop the Palestinians from committing suicide
exploding themselves in Israel's café shops.
That is because America can stop Israel from practicing its
uncontrolled expansion by abandoning its unconditional support policy.

Those terrorists certainly see no face for America but an ugly face.
If America was unbiased even for once for sake of improving its image
the whole situation could have changed.
I tell you that America is playing a very dangerous game with double
standards and vetoes.
If America continues to believe the fantasy of ruling the world in
partnership with Israel, America shall begin to lose its friends one
after the other and amass the whole world in a coalition against it.

If this happens then the terrorists have won their holy war.
America may very well rule the world when the world is ready for such
a change of global politics, but that time is definitely not now, not
tomorrow and not next year.

America seems to have adopted the Israeli ideology that war is the
best environment for effecting a political change.

If my estimates are true then we should all begin investing on nuclear
shelters because WWIII is at the door.

Deep down in my heart I wish to be very wrong, but my analytic brain
tells me that I am not.
