He got them early last year. Or was it the year before?
I arranged a tour of his ranch for friends who are battlebots warriors.
It's not like you can drive onto Ft. Irwin anymore easily.
His Sheridan is my personal favorite. His T-80 impresses ex-tankers.
You will have seen and heard some of his vehicles in numerous war films.
You can tell his quality by the selection of armored recovery vehicles
he owns. He's restoring a Panzer Mk V right now (he has a nicely
restored Jp III to a self propelled Iraqi gun). And he has an couple of
AMX (13 and 30) stored somewhere. He just finished restoring an M-26
Pershing (gave a talk at PARC about that).
He motivated me that I need to visit BRL (always hated driving from DC
through Baltimore just to get to Aberdeen, also I had less reason to do
so when Mike Muuss died) and Wright-Patt (and I did visit Duxford for work,
too).
P.S. the warriors are right now working on the DARPA autonomous vehicle
challenge. Armor not currently needed.
