My MIL has a long enough oxygen tube hose that she leaves the machine in her bedroom and can reach the other side of her house. The machine is like white noise and she actually sleeps better with it. Of course, the cats may be a problem if they like to play with cords and such. She had insisted on getting a dog for companionship and security. My niece who lives with her got a really cute sheltie type dog. the dog though would run around the house and accidentally disconnect the hose connection Once we went to go pick up dinner and came back to find her gasping because the hose got separated - not a good thing and unfortunately the dog had to be placed elsewhere.
