Maybe I bought my Maytag w/d set before they went downhill. I've had
them now for 13 years. They have required a some major repairs in the
last two years, but in the prior 11 years I didn't call for service
once. An extended warranty would've been a waste of money. I was
getting somewhat aggravated at the cost of repairs in the last two
years - I've sunk probably $400 in repairs between the two machines.
But the authorized Maytag repair place is just down the street from me
and they guaranty service within 24 hours.
