x-ray techniques

I am a new x-ray tech student and am going crazy looking at the different
techniques used by different people for the same procedures.  One person
uses 66 kvp/ 64 Mas for an abdominal plate and another uses 90 at 120. Can
anyone recomend a good site that discusses technique in detail?
