Hi Gem, I've heard of PDT being used in relation to acne treatment, but not respiratory pathogens. It was something to do with reducing glycine betaine levels in Propionibacterium vulgaris(??) and allowing it to be subjected to the vagaries of osmotic stress more readily than is usual.
Personally, I'd go for Ancanthamoeba, esp. if it involves Legionella. I thought it was a top subject as an undergrad.
