Tenderness over the Sternum

dear doctors
   can u pls tell whts my problem , i visited a ortho doctor he
refered to me spine specialist
  whts written in reference letter is as follows


      Pls examine XXXX with pain all over spine and and tenderness
over the sternum ,Fever on /off

   Can u pls tell me wht kind of examination thy will be doing , hop
scaning might be there , wht else will be there and whts my disease ,
i know its difficult to giv a answer just by having this details , In
genaral im asking
