Re: You can't just wash that asbestos right out of your bed

Back to the very beginning of this thread -- We have someone telling us that
the city exists in a cloud of asbestos dust due to old plaster. Read the
first post. Now we have someone telling us that the average citizen
"...used to receive more asbestos exposure on the street corner waiting for
a traffic light than ANY other place in life..." Now what is it? I have no
doubt there is a hazard but I get such exaggerated BS. Really, if I put all
the statements together we must all be dead. Then I get another post that
says even a 'miniscule' exposure is deadly. Well we've all had at least
'miniscule' exposures. That's what the posts are telling us. But we are
not dead. I'm not dead, you're not dead. So give us a clue, what is the
risk? I know this, about 40,000 get killed in North America every year from
auto accidents. this is a risk I, and hundreds of millions of others are
willing to face every day. I also know that 40,000 don't get killed from
mesothelioma. so very clearly a miniscule amount is not likely to kill me.
Is the probability one in a million? or what?

I am trying very hard to "GET Educated" but I'm having a bit of trouble.

Walter.
