blood pressure monitor question

I have a rather large arm, bigger than what my blood pressure monitor states
as the limit.  I am in the process of getting a larger cuff.  However, I
noticed that my readings seem real high.  Is it likely that a BP cuff that
is too small would tend to give readings that are higher than normal on
average?  Thanks in advance!
