Robert's point clarified.

I agree with that statement (below), but my point is that there are easy
ways to protect yourself maximally (though diet, making your body less
sensitive and less likely to react in a dangerous way), regardless of what
your genetic makeup is, at least according to the science that has been done
recently (especially regarding free radical damage in its various forms).
However, the nonsense in the mainstream media, for example, the "saturated
fat is bad" message, needs to be countered, because it is at odds with the
newest evidence (they are talking about old flawed studies, that, for
example, classified lard as "saturated fat," even though it is 60% or more
unsaturated).

Robert posted:

"There are many factors involved and I do see a one dimensional look at
nutrition here almost to the exclusion of everything else. I don't believe
in a one size fits all view. If I were in a genetics ng I would push for
nutrition and in PE etc.

Nutrition gets a bad wrap in terms of Science. It is virtuosly impossible
to study without personalities pushing something, Pauling and vitamine C
etc but that impression is out there and that was the only point I was
trying to make. I made it and so I will back off now."
