I suppose the ones who stay must either enjoy that game or else maybe
it's just a price some are willing to pay to keep their status when
there are always newcomers trying to climb over them to get to the
same top spot. Most of Long Island is now like an extension of Queens
with people packed in like sardines. Being an outsider with no
inclination to share an overpriced rental with 40 other people, I'm
only familiar with some parts of the Hamptons that can be seen from
the road. I don't know anything else about the place. That was just
meant as a possible curb appeal comparison because of all the rich and
famous estates out that way. I wouldn't want to move back down to
metro NY either.
