Yeah, my vision was 20/20, but I need a pair of reading glasses now.

Sometimes, Japanese is an out-of-control language.  Or I should say that
 Japanese language receptors could be out of control.  Once you submit
an ambiguous message, your message is in their mercy of how they
interpret it.  Including me, they may interpret it in any way they want.
They may interpret it in the speaker's favor or totally fuzaketa way.

I thought about ヒビや道理 = crack & reason, but I refrained from
teasing Konrad.
