RIP software for imagesetter

Hello!

Is there now good open source raster processors for imagesetter?
(maybe based on GhostScript)

Second question:
We have a problem with offset printing
of intersections of very thin black lines.
These intersections looks at the paper too thick.
This is a known problem with offset printing:
ink leaks to the edge of a white wedge.
Maybe there exist some (commercial) RIP aware of this problem?
Now we use Heidelberg Delta RIP.

And the last question: 
where in Internet I can find the people experienced in pre-press?
