Seeking Source

A few months ago I ran across an article (~2 pages with photos) about
a new image chip (CMOS?) that was differentiated by:

 - it had a 9:16 or another “wide” format. It was more than a
square array; i.e., rectangular. It provided a 140 or 160 degree FOV

- each pixel on the array was capable of auto-contrast
balance adjustment. A scene including a look out a window provided
both a clear image of the interior and also what was visible
externally. There was no bloom-out area from the light received thru
the window.

This combo appears design unique. I don’t recall if it was just mono
or color. Believe it was created by a start-up. The article touted
it’s applications as an area security sensor to reduce requirements to
pan a system in order to achieve a larger FOV and provide continuous
surveillance of an area.

I review/read 15-20 magazines/month and I necked it down to about a
possible dozen but could not find it in the old issues I had around.

I can’t find the article nor the company. My browser history had
expired when I tried to go back. I have Googled and searched otherwise
but yet to no avail.

Can anyone in this newsgroup vector me to this company or suggest
possibilities?

TIA

 Rip
