The best demosaicing algorithm is an avoided demosaicing algorithm!
A mosaic color image capture loses most of the image data anyway,
and any demosaicing algorithm distorts the image badly.
The best solution for color image capture is using a full-color
capture technique, either 3-CCD, or Foveon X3 like.
