Just because you take pleasure in causing a scene with the flight
attendant, that doesn't make it either the most appropriate or most
effective response. Have you ever thought about how such a reaction might
impact those around you? You are not the only passenger on these flights.
An outburst over restrictive electronic device regulations that 90% of
the plane doesn't care about is not going to endear you towards the other
travelers.

You may not care about how they perceive you, but the larger impact could
be that you make the other passengers nervous about being on your flight.
Said nervousness could lead to you getting ejected from the plan in
extreme cases, but at the very least you should be considerate of those
who have also paid money to travel on the same plan as you, peacefully
and quietly. Common courtesy is a valuable life skill. Showing off
your technical prowress to a flight attendant by being pedantic and
beligerent is both petty and rude.

Another way to think about it is how your attitude is going to affect
other people who would like to see GPS units approved on future flights.
If the airline gets the impression that GPS users are obnoxious,
argumentative and outright rude based on your outlandish behavior,
then you're basically spoiling it for everyone.
