Re: National Geographic TOPO (state) verses National Geograpic Back Roads Explorer



As the web site indicates, the main difference is that Back Roads Explorer
is limited to 1:100,000 maps whereas the State Series goes down to 1:24,000
maps.  There are 8 to 10 CDs in the State Series I have (AZ, CA, OR), and
you get considerably more detail with the State Series.  On the other hand,
at $50 (until 12/31/03) the Back Roads Explorer seems to be an excellent
value since you get 1:100,000 USGS maps for the entire USA.  Thanks for
pointing it out.
