'Ultraviolet guide to minerals' Van Nostrand, New York (1960) Robbins, M. 'The collector's book of fluorescent minerals' Van Nostrand Reinhold, New York (1983) Also of worth are: Pogson, R.E. 'Ultraviolet rays and mineral fluorescence' Journal of the Mineralogical Society of New South Wales 1 (1979) 23-26 Yagoda, H. 'Luminescent phenomena as aides in the localization of mineral in polished sections' Economic Geology 41 (1946) 813-819 I also use the 1995 book by F.W.D. Rost - Fluorescence Microscopy - which has a chapter on petrology and materials science (vol. 2, ch. 11) that summarises a lot of the available information. Hope this helps, Nick Eastaugh [EMAIL PROTECTED]
