JCT: What else could I possibly need for the Proteus Project for UNILETS at the UN? Incredibly, I just ran into this. And I'm going to be in Montreal so I'll look deeper into getting their support for UNILETS at the UN. I tell you, having some Rockefellers back US timedollars publicly helped get UNILETS on the Millennium Declaration, and now perhaps some Bronfmans backing timedollar Local Employment-Trading Systems here in Canada, it feels like the world's owners may in the mood to set the debt slaves free! > http://galileo.spaceports.com/~becs/autresel/pgbs.htm The Project Genesis Barter System A Project of THE ALEXANDER DWORKIN ENDOWMENT FUND of the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal and the URBAN ISSUES PROGRAM of the Samuel and Saidye Bronfman Family Foundation THE PROJECT GENESIS BARTER SYSTEM The Project Genesis Barter System is a trading system in which members exchange their services on the basis of time. It was set up in November 1997 with the intention of providing a place for community members to practice their skills in an environment which fostered equality. There are approximately 200 different services offered by 100 members. Examples of services currently offered include language conversation, advice on marketing plans for small businesses, bicycle repair, computer lessons, art lessons and math tutoring. The Barter System is seen as an economic and social alternative for new immigrants, people looking for work, isolated community members and people interested in using their skills to benefit the community as a whole. In addition, it has served as a vehicle for popular education through discussions and workshops on topics that are of interest to members. Furthermore, a number of smaller groups have developed as by-products of the Barter System: language conversation, computer lessons and public speaking are among them. Essentially, the Project Genesis Barter System is a community-building tool that helps members feel that they are part of a community which values their skills. Moreover, the long-term goal for the group is that it be an autonomous, community-run organization; development of leadership in the Barter System is therefore very important for this to occur. Members are currently being encouraged to take part in all facets of the group, including evaluation of the project, participating in an informal steering committee, preparation of the newsletter, registration of exchanges in the computer, doing outreach to other organizations and planning and animating meetings. Anyone can become a member, and membership is free; One hour of any service is equal to one hour of any other service; JCT: That they'll have to fix so a doctor gets more than a baby-sitter but they should bend to the logic of a free market in labor quick enough. Members negotiate with each other to arrange exchanges, then report them to the coordinator, accompanied by an evaluation of the exchange in terms of satisfaction; There are monthly member meetings that allow members to get to know each other, as trust is an important factor in the exchange process; meetings are also used as a vehicle for decision-making and popular education. Just as I'm about to launch my Proteus Project from the International LETS Seminar in MONTREAL! It's as if God puts these paths, moves, plays right in my face so I can't not take them. I hope to have my Proteus Project for UNILETS ready by the end of the LETS Seminar. May as well get outside input if I can. As for Bernard Lietaer, he disgraced himself when he chose interest-bearing national currency over interest-free personal currency. And as for Michael Linton, he never saw the big picture though he certainly helped paint a lot of the smaller ones. I can't even imagine what they could be talking about that hasn't already been handled in the all-inclusive UNILETS Resolution C6 to governments on the Millennium Declaration. -- Abolitionist Slave Leader John C."The Banking Systems Engineer" Turmel for UNILETS interest-free time-based currency in U.N. resolution C6 to Governments in the http://www.un.org/millennium/declaration.htm http://www.cyberclass.net/turmel 519-756-1325 USENET: can.politics
