Re: SHARP 56FW-53H TELEVISION MODIFICATION FROM UK TO FRANCE

>From what we have seen in the past, and what we are familiar with:

It is more than what the salesman told you. There are also circuit changes.
The IC's used are surface mount SMD technology. This is not something you
can do at home. You can call Sharp directly for more details. The cost of
doing this, if anyone would want to take it on, would not be feasible.

I have recently moved from the UK to France and have brought my Sharp
56FW-53H TV with me.
Although the salesman told me that it was software tuned and would
work anywhere, it doesn't.
I have been told that it needs re-chipping.
Is this correct and how would a non technical person go about getting
it done.

If you know the answer, please let me know any part descriptions or
numbers req'd.

Many thanks

PRMason
