SHARP 56FW-53H TELEVISION MODIFICATION FROM UK TO FRANCE

I have recently moved from the UK to France and have brought my Sharp
56FW-53H TV with me.
Although the salesman told me that it was software tuned and would
work anywhere, it doesn't.
I have been told that it needs re-chipping.
Is this correct and how would a non technical person go about getting
it done.

If you know the answer, please let me know any part descriptions or
numbers req'd.
