Newbee needs help

Well down in Florida most folks seem to use the TDS chips
in their hp48's. But I can't afford such and I'm trying to learn how
to calculate coordinates with a standard trig function calculator.
I'm going thru all kinds of circles trying to carry an azimuth along
with my angles and distance and back sites. Can anybody show
me the easiest formulas for doing this ?
