PROVERBS - CHAPTER 26:18-19 Like a madman shooting firebrands or deadly arrows is a man who deceives his neighbour and says, `I was only joking.' NIV The world is full of unimaginable quantities of 'information' and it is up to each of us to judge what to look at; we can't look at it all. And then we have to judge what to believe since we cannot possibly verify it all. Each of us has our own, private, criteria of what to look at and what to ignore, what to study and what to reject. One of my criteria is that any argument that starts with insulting slander falls into the category of things to be ignored. So why did I follow up this post? Well, sometimes I follow up on something in the 'ignore' category just to see if I was right. The deeper I look into this one, the more my looney alarm rings. When there is a serious problem to discuss, it is usually discussed seriously, not by slanderous insults under the cover of humour. Are you the same guy as "Navy Nuke"? Tell him that I have 'dared' to cross the border into the US many times, though never with any intent of expressing 'contempt for the US government'. Why would I? The material they presented made sense: A routine case of sloppiness resulting in an investigation, a reprimand but not even 'civil penalties' ( I am quoting from the government document.) There is not the slightest hint of 'criminal intent (I am quoting from the web site.) I am quite familiar with nuclear densitometers. Apparently one of them was lost. It most assuredly did not have enough radioactive material to "contaminate every public place in Pocatello". Walter. P. S. Looneys seldom use their real names. They also tend to hide under multiple e-mail addresses to make it look like there are expressing widely held opinion.
